Hearing Order 14-04: Protection of Information in Circuit Court Records
The Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP) Steering Committee is petitioning the Wisconsin Supreme Court to create Wis. Stat.§ 801.19. The CCAP Steering Committee contends that the proposed rule will provide protection of certain personal information found in circuit court records, as well as establish procedures for submission of confidential information, sealing, and redaction of documents.

Order 12-07: Supreme Court Finance Committee
Justice Patience Drake Roggensack petitioned the court to amend Supreme Court Rules (SCRs) 70.03 and 70.12(1)(c)3 and create SCRs 70.12(5), 70.12(6), and 70.16 to codify the establishment of a supreme court finance committee.

Judicial Council Seeks Comments on Amendments to Evidence Rules by May 14
The proposal repeals the dead man’s statute and a statute on privileged communications, changes rules on recorded statements, character evidence, and impeachment of witnesses with prior convictions, and creates a new bias rule.
The Judicial Council studies and makes recommendations relating to court pleading, practice and procedure, as well as court organization, jurisdiction, and methods of administration and operation. Since 2009, it has studied ways to improve Wisconsin evidence rules, resulting in the proposed amendments. The council will consider all comments before filing for rule changes with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the legislature.

Proposed Rule and Bylaw Changes
Notice of Bylaw Amendment: Creates Diversity and Inclusion Oversight Committee as a Standing Committee
The Board of Governors unanimously approved changes to Article IV of the bylaws, which would establish the Diversity and Inclusion Oversight Committee as a standing committee.
Notice Published: Feb. 18, 2015, in WisBar InsideTrack, including the amended bylaw.
Disposition: A petition for review of any change in the bylaws will be entertained by the court if signed by 25 or more active State Bar members and filed with the clerk of court within 60 days after publication of notice of change. Hearings upon such a petition will be pursuant to notice in such manner as the court directs. The period to petition for review ends April 18, 2015.
