Our Benefits: Offered to all full-time and eligible part-time employees

Health Insurance

You are eligible to enroll in a health insurance plan, with coverage beginning the first of the month after 30 days of employment. The State Bar contributes to the premium cost with the remainder paid by the employee through pre-tax payroll deductions.

We offer a traditional HMO health insurance plan; a High Deductible Health Plan/Health Savings Account (HSA) arrangement; or a Point of Service Plan for those who appreciate choice when choosing a physician.

Dental Insurance

You are eligible to enroll yourself and your dependents in a dental coverage plan. The State Bar shares the premium cost for employees and their enrolled dependents.

Vision Insurance

You are eligible to enroll yourself and your dependents in a vision coverage plan. The minimal premium is paid by the employee through pre-tax payroll deductions.

401(k) savings plan with generous employer contributions

All full-time and part-time employees who work more than 1000 hours per year are eligible to participate in our 401k savings plan after completing one calendar quarter of service. You can make pre-tax contributions up the IRS limits into your 401k savings account. A variety of investment options exist, allowing the flexibility of hands-on involvement to worry-free target fund choices. The plan also allows you to roll-over balances from other qualified funds.

In addition, after completing one year of service, all full-time and part-time employees who work more than 1000 hours per year will be eligible to receive generous State Bar contributions to their savings plan. Full vesting occurs after 5 years of service.

Three weeks' paid vacation

You begin accruing vacation immediately upon hire, and can use your time as soon as it is accrued. You will begin earning four weeks’ vacation after three years of employment.

Paid Holidays

As a State Bar Employee, you will enjoy 10 paid holidays each year.

Paid Sick Time

Ten incidental sick days are offered each year.

Long Term Disability

The State Bar pays the full premium cost for your long term disability coverage; there is no cost to you. Should you find yourself in a position where you are unable to work due to illness or injury, disability coverage begins on the 91st day, paying 60% of pre-disability earnings.

Life Insurance

Life insurance valued at 3 times your annual earnings ($300,000 max) is provided at no cost to you; the State Bar pays the entire premium.
