State Bar Elections: 2024 Candidates ​​​

The State Bar will elect a president-elect, a secretary, a Judicial Council representative, and Board of Governors representatives in April 2024. The president-elect serves a one-year term before becoming president. The secretary holds the position for two years, while the Judicial Council representative serves a three-year term.

All State Bar elections (including for State Bar divisions and sections) will be held via electronic ballot in 2024, starting April 11, 2024. The election closes at noon Central Time on April 26, 2024. Those elected take office July 1, 2024.

Board of Governors

See the 2024 State Bar Board of Governors' candidates.

The Board of Governors is the State Bar's policymaking body. Governors serve two-year terms.

Districts 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, and 16 will elect governors in 2024. District 2 (Milwaukee) elects five; District 6 (Waukesha) elects two; District 9 (Dane) elects four; and all other districts elect one.

To be considered for a seat on the Board of Governors, members must submit a Board of Governors nominating petition to the State Bar by March 1, 2024, that is signed by 10 active members in their district. Candidates will be announced in March. Elections take place in April.
