Divisions

The State Bar offers its members the opportunity to meet and work with other attorneys who share important characteristics through participation in the Bar's four divisions. Unlike sections, which focus on specific professional areas or legal issues, divisions are organized under broad categories that reflect the location and experience of Bar members.

Young Lawyers Division

“I have had nothing but great experiences during my time on the YLD Board. When I first joined the board, it quickly turned into an excellent place to meet other new attorneys throughout the state. The board itself is comprised of attorneys that are driven to improve the experience that all new Wisconsin attorneys have when first joining the bar. Also, being on the board pushed me to attend Wisconsin State Bar events, whether YLD specific or otherwise. This helped me to connect with folks from all over the state and working in all kinds of fields. This helped me to become a more well-rounded attorney and to develop a network of people that I could share information with."

“And more recently, I have appreciated all of the opportunities to be a leader within the state bar. Whether that is planning events for YLD members or representing the YLD at state bar or ABA events. My time on the board has opened doors to all kinds of opportunities to contribute to the state bar and my fellow attorneys that make up its membership. For these reasons, I would encourage anyone interested to run for a position within the YLD board as a great starting step into the wider world that is the Wisconsin State Bar." Castro said.
