    Notice of State Bar Bylaw Amendment

    Certificate of Bylaw Amendment: Redistricting and Reapportionment of State Bar Districts

    I, George C. Brown, the Executive Director of the State Bar of Wisconsin, do hereby certify that a Redistricting Proposal was duly adopted by the Board of Governors on June 24, 2015, and was approved unanimously.

    RESOLVED, that the State Bar of Wisconsin Board of Governors has adopted the following amendment to apportionment of districts as required by SCR 10.05(2)(c):

    SCR 10.05(2)(c) State Bar Districts
    As required by SCR 10.05(2)(c), every ten years beginning January 1, 1995, the Board of Governors must adopt revisions to the Board of Governors Districts. At its June 24, 2015, meeting the Board of Governors unanimously approved a proposal from the Board of Governors Reapportionment Committee.

    This proposal transfers Polk County from District 11 to District 8. For additional information, a full description of the process and rationale was provided to the Board of Governors at the June 24, 2015 meeting. A copy of the memo provided to the Board of Governors is attached and made a part of this certificate, as is a copy of the proposed Map of State Bar of Wisconsin Districts.

    Notice Published: July 22, 2015, in the July/August issue of Wisconsin Lawyer magazine.

    Disposition: A petition for review of any change in the bylaws will be entertained by the court if signed by 25 or more active State Bar members and filed with the clerk of court within 60 days after publication of notice of change. Hearings upon such a petition will be pursuant to notice in such manner as the court directs. The period to petition for review ends Sept. 19, 2015.
