    New Hires, Promotions, Partners

    Kristi   A. Hayek Kristi A. Hayek, U.W. 1999 cum laude, has been promoted to senior vice president and deputy general counsel of Associated Banc-Corp, Milwaukee.

    David   G. Peterson David G. Peterson, U.W. 1991 cum laude, has joined Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. in the Waukesha office as a shareholder in the litigation practice.

    Gilbert     F. Urfer Gilbert F. Urfer, Marquette 2002, has joined Nistler Law Office s.c., Brookfield, as a senior associate and focuses on civil litigation and criminal defense.

    Gary J. Van Domelen Gary J. Van Domelen, Marquette 1986, has been elected a shareholder at Wagner, Falconer & Judd Ltd., La Crosse, and leads the firm’s business service team.

    Mark Bensen, U.W. 1991, has been appointed Washington County District Attorney by Gov. Jim Doyle. He previously was a Washington County deputy district attorney.

    Nancy Joseph, Rutgers 1993, has become a magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. She previously was an assistant federal defender.

    Kurt Klomberg, U.W. 2002, has been appointed Dodge County District Attorney by Gov. Jim Doyle. He previously was a Dodge County assistant district attorney.

    Jill R. Martin, Nebraska 2004, has been promoted to associate trust counsel at Marshall & Ilsley Trust Co. NA, Milwaukee.

    Eugene M. LaFlamme, Marquette 2002, has been promoted to partner at McCoy & Hofbauer S.C., Waukesha. Matthew R. Rosek, Marquette 2004, has been promoted to senior associate, and Patricia A. Stone, Marquette 2010, has joined the firm.

    Craig R. Nolen, Marquette 2010, has joined Voegeli, Ewald & Bartholf Law Offices S.C., Monroe, and focuses on real estate, agricultural law, municipal law, and tax law.

    Sarrie L. Pozolinski, U.W. 2008, has joined Buelow Vetter Buikema Olson & Vliet LLC, Waukesha, and focuses on employer-side employment law.

    Richard B. Schoenbohm, Indiana 1980, has rejoined Schoenbohm Law S.C., Appleton, as an associate and focuses on adoption and surrogacy law.

    Amy K. Sholis, Marquette 2010, has joined the Madison headquarters of Dean Health Plan as a corporate compliance specialist.

    Bass & Moglowsky S.C. has moved to 501 W. Northshore Dr., Suite 300, Milwaukee.

    Paul E. Bucher, Marquette 1987, has formed Bucher Law Group LLC, 355 Austin Cir., Suite 110, Delafield. Also with the firm, which focuses on civil and criminal litigation, family law, Social Security and worker’s compensation matters, and municipal law, are Paul Kritzer, Georgetown 1972, Steven J. Lownik, Marquette 1982, and Thomas Simon, Marquette 2002.

    Evelyn L. BrownEvelyn L. Brown, Marquette 2000 magna cum laude, has been appointed treasurer of the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin. She is with the trusts and estates group in the Milwaukee and Madison offices of Quarles & Brady LLP.

    Kerri A. HutchisonKerri A. Hutchison, Marquette 2007 magna cum laude, has been elected president of the Wisconsin Retirement Plan Professionals Ltd. She is with the employee benefits group in the Milwaukee office of Quarles & Brady LLP.

    Todd W. MartinTodd W. Martin, U.W. 1995 cum laude, has been appointed managing shareholder of the Madison office of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. He is with the business law and employee benefits practices.

    The Hon. John R. Storck, Harvard 1979, has been elected “chief of the chiefs,” chair of the group of 10 chief judges who oversee the state’s judicial administrative districts. He is chief judge of the Sixth Judicial Administrative District and sits on the Dodge County Circuit Court.

    Christopher E. Ware, Michigan 1995, has been appointed to the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority board by Gov. Jim Doyle. He is a shareholder in the litigation practice of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., Milwaukee.

    Michael J. Lauer, John Marshall 1978, has been named leader of the tax, estate planning, and exempt organizations practice group at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. Heather M. Tiltmann, Nebraska 2000 with distinction, has been named leader of the human resources law practice group. Lauer and Tiltmann are shareholders in the firm’s Milwaukee office.

    Jeffrey P. Aiken, Marquette 1972 cum laude, has authored “Construction Experts and Res Ipsa Loquitor: Bridging the Evidentiary Gap,” Construction Lawyer (Fall 2010).

    Michael Ariens, Marquette 1982, has authored Law School: Getting In, Getting On, Getting Out (Carolina Academic Press, 2010). He is a professor at St. Mary’s University School of Law, San Antonio, Texas.

    The Hon. Charles B. Schudson, U.W. 1974, made two presentations on law and literature at the Louisiana/Mississippi Judicial Conference in New Orleans in August. He is a Wisconsin reserve judge.

    Debra E. KuperDebra E. Kuper, Marquette 1997, was recognized as one of the “Most Powerful and Influential Women in Georgia” and received the Glass Ceiling Award at the Georgia Leadership Conference, sponsored by the National Diversity Council. She is vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary at AGCO, Duluth, Ga.

    Mark MunsonMark Munson, South Dakota 1999, has been certified as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. He is with Ruder Ware LLSC, Wausau, and focuses on elder law, public benefits, estate and trust planning, and taxation.

    The Hon. Ann Walsh Bradley, U.W. 1976, received the 2010 Marygold Melli Achievement Award from the Legal Association for Women. She is on the Wisconsin Supreme Court and was recognized for her achievements on the bench, as a member of state and national commissions, and as a speaker on law-related topics.

    The Hon. Paul Wickham Schmidt, U.W. 1973, received the Lucia Russell Briggs Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from Lawrence University, Appleton. He is a U.S. immigration judge in Arlington, Va.
