Platform Statement

I began my legal career here in Wisconsin and am proud to be a member of what I believe is the best State Bar in the nation. Since joining, I’ve sought not only to participate but to contribute meaningfully to our profession. In 2021, I became directly involved in the State Bar as a governor, and I’ve had the privilege of serving two non-consecutive terms on the Board of Governors, including work on the Strategic Planning Committee. These experiences gave me a front-row seat to the challenges, opportunities, and successes that shape our organization.

Recently, I transitioned to a new district, which meant stepping away from the Board – but not from my commitment to the State Bar. I am honored to be nominated for secretary and eager to continue serving in a role that demands both vision and accountability. I understand the issues we face today and those on the horizon, from advancing member engagement to ensuring fiscal responsibility and promoting diversity and inclusion within our profession.

As secretary, I will bring:

  • Experience and Perspective: Years of governance experience and insight into strategic priorities.
  • Commitment to Transparency: Clear communication and collaboration with members.
  • Dedication to Service: A focus on strengthening the State Bar’s role as a resource and advocate for all Wisconsin lawyers.

I believe in the power of our collective voice and the importance of leadership that listens, adapts, and acts. I look forward to the opportunity to serve and help guide the State Bar toward continued excellence.

Biography

I graduated from law school in 1999, passed the bar that summer, and began my legal career in Green Bay. Today, I reside in Manitowoc with my wife and two children. Over the years, I have practiced in private, in-house, and now public sectors, currently serving the Oneida Nation in Green Bay.

I am deeply committed to service and leadership. I serve as chair of the Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation Board, chair of the CORE Treatment Services Board, and as a mayoral appointee on the Manitowoc Public Library Board. My purpose in life is to elevate those I serve, and I bring that passion to every role I undertake.
