The State Bar’s Diversity Clerkship Program is a 10 week paid summer employment opportunity where first-year Marquette University Law School and University of Wisconsin Law School students with diverse backgrounds are matched with a wide array of employers from private law firms, corporate legal departments and governmental agencies. Student clerks gain practical legal experience, and participating employers obtain valuable legal support.
Eligibility
First-year Marquette University Law School and University of Wisconsin Law School students with diverse backgrounds who are in good standing may apply. Successful applicants demonstrate a commitment to diversity and a record of academic achievement.
Important Dates for the 2022 Diversity Clerkship Program
Late October, 2021 - Marquette Law School Information Session.
Late October, 2021 - UW-Madison Law School Information Session.
Jan. 14, 2022 - Law Student Application and Employer Commitment deadline.
Jan. 20, 2022 - Volunteer lawyer interviews with U.W. students – 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Jan. 21, 2022 - Volunteer lawyer interviews with Marquette students – Noon to 3:30 p.m.
Feb. 8, 2022 - Deadline for student to commit to program.
Feb. 17, 2022 - Virtual employer interviews for Milwaukee-based employers.
Feb. 22, 2022 - Virtual employer interviews for Madison-based employers.
March 4, 2022 - Assignments sent to students and employers.
July 21, 2022 - Diversity Clerkship Program Reception.
