How to Help the Public

Get Out and Vote
People want to know how to vote via absentee ballot. Lawyers can help their communities understand the timelines and requirements for doing so. Read the 2020 Election Voting Guide. In addition, visit the State Election Commission's website, My Vote WI, to register to vote, find out who is on the ballot for the next election, and more.

Know Protesters’ Rights
ACLU Wisconsin explains a protester’s rights, including the narrow restrictions on the exercise of speech.

Know Where to Turn
The State Bar of Wisconsin Lawyer Referral & Information Service can help determine the need for a lawyer or other community resource.

Refer to the legal resources in the Volunteer section here.
