    Jonathan Blum, U.W. 2006, has opened Blum Law Office, 440 Chestnut St., Suite 300, Wisconsin Rapids. The general practice firm emphasizes estate planning, real estate, elder law, and criminal law.

    Korth, Rodd, Mouw, and Smith has merged with O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney S.C. The combined firms will operate under the latter name, with offices at 4 S. Stevens St., Rhinelander.

    Titania D. Whitten, Drake 1996, and Judith L. DuSell, Marquette 2001, have formed the Law Offices of Whitten and DuSell, 3333 N. Mayfair Rd., Suite 212, Wauwatosa. The firm focuses on bankruptcy, personal injury, family, consumer, and probate law.

    The Hon. Gerald P. Ptacek, Marquette 1974, has been elected chair of the Committee of Chief Judges, which handles administrative matters for the Wisconsin court system. Ptacek is chief judge of the second judicial administrative district, which encompasses Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties, and is with the Racine County Circuit Court.

    The Society of Family Lawyers has elected the following officers: president - Thomas D. Klein, Milwaukee; president-elect - Judith M. Budny, West Allis; secretary - Kimberly M. Best, Menomonee Falls; and treasurer - Kent A. Tess-Mattner, Brookfield.

    Miguel C. Keberlein, U.W. 2002, received the Kimball R. Anderson and Karen Gatsis Anderson Public Interest Law Fellowship from the Chicago Bar Association at a ceremony in July. Keberlein, who is with the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, was honored for his work with migrant farm workers.
