The Wisconsin Supreme Court has appointed the Hon. Donald R. Zuidmulder, U.W. 1968, as chief judge of the Eighth Judicial District. Judge Zuidmulder appointed the Hon. Michael T. Judge, Mauette 1972, as deputy chief judge. Zuidmulder sits on the Brown County Circuit Court, and Judge sits on the Oconto County Circuit Court.
Awards, Degrees, Honors
The Legal Association for Women selected Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, U.W. 1976, as the 2010 recipient of the Marygold Melli Achievement Award. She was honored for her work on the bench and for volunteer services in Wisconsin and nationwide, including on the Wisconsin Equal Justice Task Force and the Wisconsin State Public Defender board.
The Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association presented several awards at its annual meeting in April in Milwaukee. The Hon. Terence T. Evans, Marquette 1967, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, received the Judge Myron L. Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award. Joseph R. Wall, Marquette 1984, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Milwaukee, received the Judge Robert W. Warren Public Service Award. Bruce G. Arnold, Michigan 1981, Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek, Milwaukee; and Peter C. Blain, Georgetown 1978, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren, Milwaukee, received the Judge Dale E. Ihlenfeldt Bankruptcy Award. Anthony S. Baish, Michigan 1997, Godfrey & Kahn, Milwaukee; and Jennifer C. Susek, U.W. 2001, a pro se attorney with the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, received the Judge John W. Reynolds Community Building Award. The Milwaukee City Attorney’s Office received the Outstanding Service Award.

Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. was again a flagship sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, held on May 1 in Milwaukee. Philip R. O’Brien, Marquette 1984, was emcee.
SmithAmundsen LLC, with offices in Milwaukee and Illinois, sponsored a fundraising event for Bunkers in Baghdad, which collects and sends sports equipment to U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
