    New Hires, Promotions, Partners

    Anne   Bensky Anne Bensky, U.W. 2008, has joined Garvey McNeil & McGillivray S.C., Madison, as an associate and focuses on environmental law, civil rights, and employment law.

    Timothy S. Crisp, Duke 1990, has joined the Madison office of Foley & Lardner LLP as a partner in the business law department and focuses on complex corporate and commercial transactions. He previously was with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.

    Jordan K.     Steven E. Hendrix, U.W. 1987, has been named director for national capacity development in Iraq with the U.S. Agency for International Development and oversees the provision of technical assistance and training to 13 Iraqi government ministries.

    James D. Dati, Creighton 1983, has been appointed to the Bonita Springs, Fla., charter review committee. He is a partner with Bond, Schoeneck & King P.A., Bonita Springs and Naples, and concentrates on representing closely-held businesses, developers, and financial institutions.

    Authors, Speakers

    James Casey, Dayton 1988, recently lectured at the Queensland University of Technology Law School, Brisbane, Australia, on university research contracting. He is director of contracts and industrial agreements at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

    The Hon. Charles B. Schudson, U.W. 1974, presented "Marriage and the New American Family: Understanding the Reshaped Relationships Coming to America's Courts," at the Arizona Judicial Conference in Tucson in June.

    Awards, Degrees, Honors

    Michael B. Devine, Drake 1980, was admitted as a Fellow in international commercial arbitration of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, England, in May. He teaches courses on business law and legal ethics at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

    James L. Santelle, Chicago 1983, received the Edmund J. Randolph Award and the Superior Honor Award from the U.S. government, both in recognition of his service as justice attaché and rule of law coordinator at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. He has returned to his position with the Office of the U.S. Attorney, Eastern District of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

    Charlotte F. Westerhaus, Indiana Univ.-Bloomington 1991, received the First Decade Award from the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). The award recognizes innovative contributions or outstanding services to the NACUA and to higher education law. She is vice president of diversity and inclusion for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Indianapolis.
