    State Bar President-elect Post Goes to Lisa Lawless

    Lisa M. Lawless is the next president-elect of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Here are the results for the State Bar officer and Board of Governors' elections for 2026-27.

    April 27, 2026 – Lisa M. Lawless is the next president-elect of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

    In the elections ending April 24, 2026, Lisa M. Lawless earned the position of president-elect over Anna Muñoz by 1,380 votes to 1,169.

    The president-elect typically serves a one-year term as president-elect before serving a one-year term as president. Newly elected officers take their posts on July 1, 2026.

    Lawless (Indiana 1992) is with Husch Blackwell LLP, Milwaukee.

    “I am honored and humbled to be elected State Bar president-elect. Over the next three years, I look forward to continuing the conversation with members, and nurturing connections between members and the State Bar, and increasing member engagement,” Lawless said.

    “I look forward to helping the bar tackle the lawyer shortage in the less populated areas of our state and working to obtain legislative funding for civil legal services for persons of modest means. These are substantial challenges that are vitally important to our profession and our state,” she said.
