When your members need direction to legal resources, try the Lawyer Referral and Information Service.

Its goal is to help Wisconsin residents determine whether their problem is truly legal in nature, and if so, to connect them to a lawyer in their area who can help them with their specific type of problem.

When you call the service, you will not get legal advice. However, you will talk to a legal assistant who is experienced in analyzing potential legal problems — and in helping you locate the best source of help. In some cases, you might not actually need a lawyer. In these cases, the legal assistant may direct you to a government agency or other community service.

Referrals are free. The first consultation fee with the lawyer (up to half an hour) will be waived.

Start the process anytime at https://www.wisbar.org/forPublic/INeedaLawyer/Pages/Business or call (800) 362-9082.
