Guide Your Members to Legal Help with the Lawyer Referral Service

When your members face legal questions or challenges, the State Bar of Wisconsin's Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) is an excellent resource to help them find the right direction.

LRS helps Wisconsin residents determine whether their issue is truly legal in nature. If it is, the service connects them with a qualified lawyer in their area who specializes in their specific type of problem.

While you won't receive legal advice when you call, you will speak with an experienced legal assistant who can analyze your situation and guide you to the best source of help. Sometimes, a lawyer may not be necessary—if that's the case, the assistant can refer you to the appropriate government agency or community resource.

Referrals through LRS are free. The initial consultation with a lawyer—up to 30 minutes—is available for a low fee of no more than $20.

Start the process anytime online at wisbar.org/forPublic/INeedaLawyer/Pages/Business or by calling (800) 362-9082.
