Waupaca County is seeking a full-time Assistant Corporation Counsel to join the Office of Corporation Counsel and Child Support Agency.
This position represents the State of Wisconsin and Waupaca County in a variety of legal proceedings, including child support, paternity, mental commitments, Children in Need of Protection and Services (CHIPS), guardianships, termination of parental rights, collections, zoning, and general code enforcement matters. Responsibilities also include legal research, drafting pleadings and legal opinions, court appearances, and advising County departments and officials as directed by the Corporation Counsel.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree required
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin
- Family law or government legal experience preferred
- Newly licensed attorneys with relevant experience and a strong interest in public service are encouraged to apply
Successful candidates must be able to work independently, communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, and build strong working relationships with staff, agencies, and the public.
