    Position Summary

    The In-House Counsel will serve as a key legal partner to leadership, providing practical, business-focused guidance across real estate, mergers & acquisitions, employment law, and member-related legal matters. This role will also help build and strengthen a scalable compliance framework to support a growing, multi-state operation. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, renewals, and amendments for club locations 
    • Support mergers & acquisitions, including due diligence, transaction documents, and post-close integration 
    • Advise on employment matters, including employee relations, compliance, investigations, and policy development across multiple states 
    • Provide guidance on member/consumer-related legal issues tied to in-club operations and experience 
    • Partner with HR and operations to ensure consistent adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
    • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively advise leadership on risk and compliance impacts
    • Support internal investigations, audits, and response to regulatory inquiries
    • Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, finance, and executive teams 
    • Manage outside counsel and support scalable legal and compliance processes as the company grows 

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership 
    • At least 4 years of relevant experience (law firm and/or in-house) 
    • Experience in commercial real estate, M&A, and employment law 
    • Preferred experience building, leading, or scaling a compliance program or function
    • Strong business judgment and ability to operate in a lean, high-growth environment
