    Lead Paralegal

    Overview:  City Staffing is a boutique, women-owned, Midwest-based staffing agency.  Our client, a respected national defense law firm, seeks a Lead Paralegal for their Milwaukee office. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys both hands-on litigation work and supporting the growth of newer paralegals. The position combines casework in defense litigation with responsibilities for onboarding, training, mentoring, and ensuring accuracy and consistency within the Paralegal Service Center.

    Role: Lead Paralegal

    Location: fully onsite in downtown Milwaukee, WI | free on-site parking

    Schedule: Monday – Friday | Full-Time

    Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 salary, plus benefits including 401(k) savings plan; medical, dental, and supplemental vision insurance; and generous PTO

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Draft concise deposition summaries
    • Compile detailed timelines of events and assemble key documentation, including medical records
    • Organize and prepare case materials, exhibits, and records for review, analysis, and trial preparation
    • Request and evaluate information from outside entities (such as government offices)
    • Conduct research using court databases and other online case information systems
    • Review, categorize, and synthesize discovery materials received from co-defendants or opposing parties
    • Support document production efforts
    • Prepare subpoenas, deposition notices, and standard discovery requests
    • Investigate and research opposing parties and expert witnesses
    • Manage document organization and maintain orderly case files
    • Provide training and instruction to new paralegals on all assigned tasks
    • Oversee and review paralegal work product to ensure quality and compliance with firm standards

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in complex defense litigation
    • Prior experience mentoring or training team members
    • Proficiency with MS Office and document management software
    • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
    • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
    • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Self-starter who can work independently while being a collaborative team member
