Husch Blackwell, a full service law firm, has an immediate opening in its Milwaukee, Kansas City, or St. Louis office for an Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Associate with a minimum one year of experience. The ideal candidate will have a tax and/or accounting background and meaningful experience with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code, including tax-qualified retirement plans, deferred and equity compensation plans, health and welfare matters (including the Affordable Care Act), cafeteria and fringe benefit plans, and employee stock ownership plans. However, we will consider exceptional candidates that do not meet all these criteria.
The candidate must have a strong academic record, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team that is spread across our geographic locations, superior judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action, and the ability to communicate directly with clients as needed. Candidates should have a Wisconsin or Missouri bar license, depending on the office to which they are applying, or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
