    New Hires, Promotions, Partners

    Jeffrey T. Batovsky, U.W. 1997, has become director of human resources and legal counsel for Glenbrook Security Services Inc. and Glenbrook Enterprises Inc., Glenview, Ill., and has been admitted to the Illinois Bar. He previously was a litigation associate at Weiss Law Office.

    Linda Bennett, U.W. 1989, has become Democratic staff director for the health subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Veterans Affairs. She previously was a lobbyist for the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO.

    Brandon E. Bowlin, Dayton 2004, has joined Heuer Law Offices S.C., Milwaukee. The firm practices exclusively in creditors' rights.

    Thomas G. Cullen, Marquette 1986, has joined Godfrey, Leibsle, Blackbourn & Howarth S.C., Elkhorn, and focuses on real estate and development matters. He previously was a staff attorney with the Wisconsin Realtors® Association.

    Timothy R. Kraft, Marquette 2005, and Jeremy R. McKenzie, Marquette 2005, have joined the Milwaukee office of Davis & Kuelthau s.c. as associates. Kraft concentrates in corporate law, real estate, and commercial finance. McKenzie concentrates in commercial and civil litigation.

    Joseph M. Fasi II, Stetson 1983, has joined Greenhalgh Krueger Hernandez & Fasi S.C. (formerly Greenhalgh & Krueger S.C.) as a shareholder. He is managing partner of the Milwaukee office and focuses on civil trials, professional negligence, personal injury, family law, real estate, and sports and entertainment law.

    Alyssa (Kornacki) Gallot, Marquette 1993, has been elected a partner in the Paris office of Baker & McKenzie SCP. She is with the mergers and acquisitions/private equity group and handles cross-border acquisitions, venture capital transactions, and joint venture and strategic partnership implementation.

    Michael S. Gibbs, Marquette 2005, has joined Averbeck & Hammer S.C., Fond du Lac, as an associate. His practice areas include personal injury, litigation, guardianship, and real estate.

    Michael A. Hayes, Marquette 1999, has been promoted to vice president of Marsh USA Inc. He is a consultant with the mass torts and complex litigation consulting practice in the company's Chicago office.

    Michael J. Hogan, St. Louis Univ. 1978, has been appointed acting associate director of university mission and identity at Marquette University. He also is opening a private mediation practice and continues to teach trial practice at Marquette Law School.

    Eunice Gibson, U.W. 1973, delivered a paper entitled "Constitutional and Statutory Protections for Hispanic Workers in the United States," at the 41st Congress of the Inter-American Bar Association in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in June. She previously was Madison City Attorney.

    Ronald Z. Domsky, U.W. 1957, authored "Til Death Do Us Part ... After That, My Dear, You're on Your Own: A Practitioner's Guide to Disinheriting a Spouse in Illinois," Southern Ill. Univ. L.J. (Winter 2005). He is a professor at John Marshall Law School, Chicago.

    Richard L. Cates, U.W. 1951, received the Charles L. Goldberg Distinguished Service Award from the Wisconsin Law Foundation at the State Bar Annual Convention in May. He also received a mentorship award from the State Bar. Cates is a founder of Lawton & Cates S.C., Madison.

    Roy M. Mersky, U.W. 1952, received the 2005 Marian Gould Gallagher Distinguished Service Award from the Amer-ican Association of Law Libraries. He is a professor and director of the Jamail Center for Legal Research at the University of Texas Law School.

    Three attorneys from Quarles & Brady LLP are included in In Business magazine's 2005 Executive Register in recognition of their professional and community activities. John S.
