    Mergers, Relocations, New Offices

    Mark H.T. Fuhrman, U.W. 1993, and Christopher J. Dodge, U.W. 1990, have opened Fuhrman + Dodge S.C., 2009 W. Beltline Hwy., Ste. 102, Madison. Dale R. Gregory, U.W. 1986, and Chantelle M. Ringe, DePaul 2006, have joined the full-service firm.

    Chris Gartman, Thomas M. Cooley 2011, has opened Gartman Law LLC, 1956 N. Bartlett Ave, Milwaukee, focusing on small business services, real estate, and hotel and condominium law.

    Hildebrand Law Firm LLC has relocated to 7545 N. Port Washington Rd., Milwaukee, and has expanded to include bankruptcy and immigration law. The firm continues to focus on family law, general litigation, estate planning/probate, real estate, labor/employment, and business law.

    von Briesen & Roper S.C. has relocated its Milwaukee office to the ninth, tenth, and eleventh floors of 411 E. Wisconsin Ave., Ste. 1000.
     

    Appointments, Elections

    Robert J.   LightfootRobert J. Lightfoot, Hamline 1995, has been appointed to the Wisconsin Joint Legislative Council's Special Committee on Legal Interventions for Persons with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias. He is with Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C., Madison, and focuses on representing health care facilities and workers.

    Joseph T. Miotke, Marquette 1999 magna cum laude, has been appointed president-elect of the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association. He is a patent litigator with DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C., Brookfield.

    The Racine County Bar Association has elected the following officers: president – Mark M. O'Neill, Thomas M. Cooley 1999; president-elect – Michael R. Younglove, John Marshall 2001; treasurer – Eric J. Markusen, Marquette 2002; secretary – Carrie R. Michelson, Marquette 1993; and board of governors – Thomas C. Binger, Michigan 1996, and Meredith S. Lewis, Marquette 2009.

    Thomas Shorter, Northeastern 1996, has been reappointed chair of the American Health Lawyers Association Labor and Employment Practice Group. He is a shareholder with Godfrey & Kahn S.C., Madison.

    Joel S. Tilleson, Thomas M. Cooley 2007, has been elected to the Wauwatosa Common Council. He is a litigation associate with Falk Metz LLC, Milwaukee.

    The Wisconsin Supreme Court appointed or reappointed five chief judges, effective Aug. 1. Deputy Chief Judge Randy R. Koschnick, Hamline 1985, Jefferson County Circuit Court, was appointed for the Third Judicial Administrative District. Deputy Chief Judge Neal A. "Chip" Nielsen III, Suffolk 1981, Vilas County Circuit Court, was appointed for the Ninth Judicial Administrative District. Deputy Chief Judge Gregory J. Potter, Gonzaga 1984, Wood County Circuit Court, was appointed for the Sixth Judicial Administrative District. Chief Judge Donald R. Zuidmulder, U.W. 1968, Brown County Circuit Court, was reappointed for the Eight Judicial Administrative District. Chief Judge Mary K. Wagner, U.W. 1982, Kenosha County Circuit Court, was reappointed for the Second Judicial Administrative District.
     

    Awards, Degrees, Honors

    Timothy P. Crawford, Marquette 1972, received the Outstanding Member Award from the Wisconsin chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys for his leadership and initiative. He is a sole practitioner with offices in Brookfield, Milwaukee, and Racine.

    John W.   Daniels Jr.John W. Daniels Jr., Harvard 1974, and his wife were named 2012 Parents of the Year by the COA Youth and Family Centers. The award is given to couples who represent the highest standards of corporate excellence and parental dedication and who demonstrate qualities of leadership, community service, commitment to family, and an outstanding commitment to Milwaukee's future generations. Daniels is chair of Quarles & Brady LLP, Milwaukee.

    Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee, received the 2012 Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for offering career development opportunities for women.

    Tom Kyle, Hamline 1996, completed the National College of Advocacy, Advanced Studies in Trial Advocacy curriculum. He is with Pitman, Kyle, Sicula & Dentice S.C., Milwaukee.

    Kevin R.   MartinKevin R. Martin, Marquette 2003, has been certified as a civil trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is a founder of Martin Law Office S.C., Oak Creek
