The supreme court has amended SCR 70.09 and
70.12 to be consistent with organizational references of the lawyer
regulation and discipline system's revised structure.

In the matter of the Amendment to Supreme Court Rules 70.09
and 70.12 relating to the Lawyer Regulation System
Order 02-05
This matter comes before the court on its own motion. Supreme Court
Rules 70.09 and 70.12 are amended to be consistent with organizational
references of the revised structure of the lawyer regulation and
discipline system, which became effective Oct. 1, 2000.
IT IS ORDERED that, effective the date of this order, the Supreme
Court Rules are amended as follows:
Section 1. 70.09 (title) of the Supreme Court Rules
is amended to read:
70.09 (title) Boards of professional
responsibility Office of lawyer regulation and board
of bar examiners; staff.
Section 2. 70.09 of the Supreme Court Rules is
amended to read:
70.09 The boards of attorneys professional
responsibility office of lawyer regulation and board
of bar examiners shall be authorized to appoint their own staffs
subject to budgetary restrictions and within established court personnel
policies, utilizing administrative services, such as recruitment and
payroll, of the office of the director of state courts.
Section 3. 70.12 (1) (c) 5. of the Supreme Court
Rules is amended to read:
70.12 (1) (c) 5. Appeal to the supreme court of the
director's decision only by the chief judge of the court of appeals,
chief judges of judicial administrative districts and boards of
attorney professional responsibility office of lawyer
regulation and board of bar examiners.
IT IS ORDERED that notice of these amendments of Supreme Court Rules
70.09 and 70.12 be given by a single publication of a copy of this order
in the official state newspaper and in an official publication of the
State Bar of Wisconsin.
