    New Hires, Promotions, Partners

    Whitney DeVoe, Marquette 2015, was appointed deputy register in probate for Milwaukee County by Chief Judge Carl Ashley. Previously, DeVoe served as board counsel for professional licensing boards including the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and the Accounting Examining Board and as an assistant corporation counsel for Jefferson County.

    Kevin Dunlevy, North Dakota 1984, and David Sienko, William Mitchell 2010, have joined DeWitt LLP as partners in the Minneapolis office.

    Dunlevy focuses on real estate litigation, title insurance disputes, real estate transactions, and creditors’ remedies, representing lenders, title insurers, and businesses in complex mortgage- and property-related matters. He has experience in trial and appellate litigation, regulatory matters, and expert witness work and is a frequent author and speaker on real estate and mortgage law. Sienko represents landowners and businesses in eminent domain, real estate litigation, and complex civil disputes, with a focus on property valuation, utilities, agricultural operations, hydrology issues, and economic damages. His practice includes condemnation actions for commercial, industrial, and agricultural property owners, as well as general business litigation.

    Four attorneys have been promoted to partner with Foley & Lardner LLP, all in the Milwaukee office. Candace D. Flatley, Notre Dame 2015, is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. Mitchell D. Lindstrom, Marquette 2015, is a member of the Transactions Practice Group and the Health Care Practice Group. Anne-Louise T. Mittal, Marquette 2015, is a member of the Consumer Law, Finance & Class Action Practice, the Appellate Practice, and the Commercial Litigation Practice. Isaac J. Morris, Northwestern 2004, is with the Corporate, Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, and Labor & Employment practice areas.

    David J. GenglerDavid J. Gengler, U.W. 2008, has been promoted to shareholder at Milwaukee-based Kohner, Mann & Kailas S.C. (KMK). With the firm since 2012, Gengler represents business clients in commercial collection and enforcement actions throughout Wisconsin, the United States, and beyond. KMK provides creditors’ rights and financial advice, business litigation, and commercial collections services to clients all over the world.

    Terry Frederick, U.W. 2004, has joined the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Frederick previously served in a similar role for the Central District of Illinois.

    Sara Micheletti, University of St. Thomas 2009, has been named a partner at McCarty Law LLP, Appleton. Micheletti’s practice includes estate planning, guardianship, probate, estate settlement, and elder law. She frequently acts as a personal representative or trustee in probates and trusts and serves as a guardian ad litem. Micheletti advocates for the best interests of individuals deemed incompetent by the court, including older adults, people with disabilities, minors, and others in need of representation.

    Andrea VoelkerAndrea Voelker, U.W. 2002, has joined Renning, Lewis & Lacy in its new office in Hudson. She has extensive experience in school law and labor and employment law for public- and private-sector clients. Previously, Voelker was the chief human resources officer at the Hudson School District for 12 years and before that, was a partner at a law firm in Eau Claire, concentrating in labor and employment and school law.

    Elizabeth C. Wamboldt, U.W. 2009, has joined Michael Best’s Milwaukee office as senior counsel in the Privacy & Cybersecurity practice, concentrating in data privacy and cybersecurity law. Wamboldt brings extensive experience advising companies on complex technology, data privacy, and commercial contracting matters and has a strong background in drafting, negotiating, and counseling clients regarding a broad range of technology-driven commercial agreements, such as software licensing, cloud and SaaS agreements, Internet of Things matters, supply chain contracts, professional-services and managed-services agreements, and website and mobile application terms. Wamboldt previously practiced at a large national law firm and held in-house contracting roles at a healthcare technology company and a global healthcare organization. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional – United States (CIPP/US) and an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

    Angela L. WellsmithAngela L. Wellsmith, U.W. 2007, has been promoted to vice president, deputy general counsel, and assistant secretary of The Manitowoc Company, Milwaukee. Wellsmith joined the company in 2022, leading transactional matters for countries in the Americas, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate, sales and distribution networks, and information technology and cybersecurity. Her new role includes global responsibilities and additional public company matters.

    Appointments, Elections

    Brian Anderson, Ohio Northern Law School 2010, has been elected as chairperson of the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners (BBE). Anderson is a shareholder at The Everson Law Firm, Green Bay. Previously, Anderson served one three-year term on the BBE; he is in his second term.

    Liam Conrad, Iowa 2024, has become a member of the board of Courage+, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth facing homelessness and other challenges. Courage+ provides essential resources, such as safe housing, counseling, job training and community support, for people ages 12-24. The nonprofit also operates the Courage House, Wisconsin’s first licensed group home for LGBTQ+ youth. Conrad is an attorney in the Real Estate Practice at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., Milwaukee.

    Awards, Degrees, Honors

    Jori LaRosa, Marquette 2024, has been named Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c.’s 2025 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. LaRosa became this year’s honoree by dedicating more than 200 hours of pro bono legal work to a case pending in the Western District of Wisconsin. She represented an inmate on a constitutional claim under the Eighth Amendment. An interlocutory appeal put the anticipated pretrial proceedings on hold, but LaRosa then agreed to represent the client in appellate proceedings before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, which involved substantial briefing, motions practice, and oral argument. As a member of Reinhart’s Litigation Practice, LaRosa is well versed in a broad range of litigation matters, including cases involving breaches of contract, ERISA and employee benefits-related litigation, and real estate litigation.
