    Warning Signs of Alcoholism

    Do you:

    1.Drink to get drunk?

    2. Drink to solve problems?

    3.Drink before stressful situations?

    4. Try to stop using or cut down?

    5. Get loud, angry, violent, or harmful to yourself or others when drinking?

    6.Drink before driving?

    7. Drink before going to work?

    8. Become preoccupied with drinking (thinking about where and when to get the next drink)?

    9.Lie or deny drinking?

    10. Hide bottles?

    11.Drink alone?

    12. Drink without planning or intending to drink?

    13.Lose track of the amount of alcohol you've consumed?

    14. Have blackouts and can't remember what happened while drinking?

    15.Have frequent hangovers?

    16. Have delirium tremens?

    17.Pour more generous drinks for yourself than for others?

    18. When questioned by others, lie about how much alcohol you'veconsumed?

    19. Miss work, meetings, or appointments because of drinking?

    20.Sometimes crave a drink in the morning?

    21. Hear people complain about your drinking?

    Answering yes to two or more of the above may mean you are at risk of becoming dependent on alcohol.
