Mark S. Reimer, Marquette 1985, and Heidi D. Kuster, Loyola
1998 cum laude, have joined American Medical Security Group Inc. and its
subsidiaries, Green Bay. Reimer is associate general counsel and Kuster
is staff attorney.
William Anzenberger, U.W. 1995, has become director of law and
advocacy for the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals. He previously was assistant researcher in industrial relations
at the University of Hawaii.
Thomas J. Basting Jr., Vermont 1992 summa cum laude, has joined
Briggs & Morgan, Minneapolis, Minn., in the business litigation section.
Basting previously was an associate with another firm practicing in environmental
law and products liability.
R. Douglas Burchett, Marquette 1995, has been named a partner
at Blackburn, Hundley & Domene LLP, Louisville, Ky., practicing in civil
defense litigation and emphasizing insurance, malpractice, and tort litigation.

Munger Ltd., Racine, as an associate patent attorney, focusing on patent

Erickson, U.W. 1987, have joined DeWitt Ross & Stevens, Madison. Hildebrand
practices in family law, collaborative family law, placement and visitation,
paternity, adoption, guardianship, and general litigation. She previously
practiced in Waukesha County. Erickson focuses on benefits and trademark
law and previously served as a law clerk for Hon. Barbara Crabb, U.S.
District Court.
Brian C. Drumm, Indiana 1999, has joined the Helein Law Group
P.C., Washington, D.C., as an associate practicing telecommunications
law. He previously was an associate with Hannan, Siesennop & Sullivan,
Milwaukee.
Jeffrey K. Fields, Marquette 1997, has joined Bank One Corporation,
Milwaukee, as vice president and national litigation manager in charge
of collateral asset management. He formerly was with the Wynn Law Office.
Steven J. Fredricks, Hamline 1995, has joined Godfrey & Kahn S.C.,
Milwaukee, in the securities practice group. He previously was assistant
general counsel for Aid Association for Lutherans.
Melissa Jackson, U.W. 1996, has been named university counsel
for U.W.-Green Bay. She previously worked for Foley & Lardner in the Milwaukee
office, practicing in commercial litigation, tax, and employee benefits
law.
John (Jack) R. Jakubiak, Marquette 1996, has been promoted to
Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve.
He is an associate in Lindner & Marsack S.C., Milwaukee, practicing employment,
labor, and immigration law.

Tom Kieffer, Marquette 1980, has joined Hale, Skemp, Hanson, Skemp
& Sleik, La Crosse, practicing in business, real estate, employment, and
administrative law. He had been general counsel for Kwik Trip Inc. since
1988.

J. Lynch, Iowa 1994 with high honors, focuses on corporate and business
law; and Ian A.J. Pitz, Minnesota 1992 cum laude, practices in
general civil litigation and white-collar criminal litigation.
Dean R. Zakos, Marquette 1979, has been promoted to vice president,
general counsel, and secretary of Modine Manufacturing Co., Racine. He
succeeds Walter E. Pavlick, George Washington 1959, who retired
after 21 years of service. Zakos joined Modine as counsel in 1982 and
was named associate general counsel and assistant secretary in January
1992. Prior to joining Modine, he served as a staff attorney with the
Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co., Milwaukee.
Michael J. Mnichowicz, Marquette 1993, has joined the Milwaukee
office of Davis & Kuelthau S.C. as an associate in the business and corporate
law section, practicing in commercial and industrial real estate and real
estate finance and development. He previously was a commercial underwriting
attorney and examiner with Chicago Title Insurance Co.
Joseph Mrazek, Georgetown 1997, has joined the Madison City Attorney's
Office as an assistant city attorney, prosecuting ordinance violations
and counseling city government.
Warren L. Nelson, U.W. 1994, has been elected partner with Fisher
& Phillips LLP, working in the firm's Orange County and San Diego, Calif.,
offices. He represents employers in collective bargaining, union avoidance,
wage and hour and OSHA compliance, and employment discrimination.
Eve Dennison Pollock, U.W. 1999, has joined Stewart Law Office,
Madison, as an associate practicing in real estate, general business,
and family law.
Rodney A. Johnson, Tulsa 1984, and Margaret M. Liss, U.W.
1990 cum laude, have joined Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Rieselbach
S.C., in the Madison office. Johnson is a shareholder in the health care
department. He previously was counsel to the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services, Dallas, Texas, counsel to the Social Security Administration,
and program and litigation counsel to the Health Care Financing Administration's
regional office, Dallas, Texas. Liss is an associate in the intellectual
property department. She previously worked as a medical physicist.
Thomas Rhatican, U.W. 1992, was promoted to lieutenant colonel
in the U.S. Army and selected as commander of the 1-147 Command Aviation
Battalion based out of Truax Field, Madison. He and members of his battalion
will mobilize for three- and six-month periods as part of an Apache Task
Force in Kuwait. Rhatican is executive assistant to Sen. Scott Fitzgerald.
Jose M. Rojas, Quinnipiac University 1997, has joined Shipman
& Goodwin LLP, Hartford, Conn., in the litigation department. He previously
was a federal prosecutor on a joint task force between the Departments
of Defense and Justice, serving as a special assistant U.S. attorney.
Jonathan D. Rosenblum, Northwestern 1991, has joined Kelly & Petranech,
Madison, practicing labor law, employment law, and civil litigation. He
is an author and has taught labor standards at U.W. and DePaul universities.
Rosenblum is an honorary fellow of the U.W. Law School's Institute for
Legal Studies.
Peter C. Stomma, Drake 1991, has joined Boyle Fredrickson Newholm
Stein & Gratz S.C., Milwaukee, as a shareholder. The firm practices in
intellectual property law including the preparation and prosecution of
patent and trademark applications in the U.S. and abroad. Stomma previously
was a shareholder with Jansson, Shupe, Munger & Stomma Ltd., Racine.
Cynthia K. Thurston, William Mitchell 1995 cum laude, has become
a shareholder with McCollum, Crowley, Vehanen, Moschet & Miller Ltd.,
Rice Lake, in worker's compensation and insurance.
Paul R. Van Grunsven, Marquette 1986, LL.M. 1995, has joined Kasdorf,
Lewis & Swietlik S.C., Milwaukee, and will chair the firm's new health
law section. He is an adjunct professor of health law at Marquette University
Law School and has written and lectured on health care and health law
issues. Van Grunsven coauthored the new ALI-ABA textbook "Health Care
Law." He was honored recently by the Health Law Society at Marquette University
Law School for his contributions to health law education. Van Grunsven
previously was with Techmeier & Van Grunsven S.C., Milwaukee.
