April Rockstead Barker, Harvard 1995, has joined Liebmann, Conway,
Olejniczak & Jerry S.C., Green Bay, focusing on litigation, insurance
coverage, media, and First Amendment law. She previously was with North-eastern
Wisconsin Legal Services, Oshkosh.
Deric P. DuQuaine, Marquette 2001, has joined the firm as an
associate practicing estate planning, trusts, tax law, and general corporate
matters.
Carolyn Lazar Butler, U.W. 1979, has been named an assistant dean
at the U.W. Law School. Her focus will be on external communications and
career services. Butler was the director of Assessment 2000, the law school's
curriculum evaluation project, and the initial phase of its strategic
planning. She previously was the director of State Bar CLE Books and practiced
law with Stafford Rosenbaum, Madison.

was with the Kenosha office of the State Public Defender; Lindner practices
in personal injury.
Joel S. Aziere, Creighton 1997, Jonathan E. Sopha, U.W.
2001, and Karen R. Steil, Marquette 2001, have joined Davis & Kuelthau,
S.C., Milwaukee, as associates. Aziere and Steil are members of the labor
and employment section. Sopha is a member of the business and corporate
section focusing his practice on real estate matters. Aziere previously
was a member of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, where he
worked on employment litigation, unfair labor practices, collective bargaining
agreements, arbitration, and contract negotiations.
Brent H. DeBord, Marquette 2001, has joined Chaplin Law Office,
Marinette, as an associate in general practice, and is interested in mediation
and general litigation.
James P. End, Marquette 2001 cum laude, has joined First, Blondis,
Albrecht, Bangert & Novotnak S.C., Milwaukee, as an associate. He will
practice in personal injury, civil rights, employment, and worker's compensation
law.
Mark A. Frankel, U.W. 1973, has joined LaFollette Godfrey & Kahn,
Madison, as a shareholder, focusing his practice on dispute resolution
and corporate problem solving. He previously was a Dane County circuit
court judge and vice president, general counsel, and secretary of Madison
Gas & Electric Co.

Health System (CHS), Milwaukee, as corporate vice president and general
counsel, responsible for all legal guidance and regulatory approvals for

Jennifer R. D'Amato, U.W. 1989 cum laude, LL.M. DePaul, and Troy
Hilliard, U.W. 1993, have joined Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris
& Rieselbach S.C., Milwaukee. D'Amato is in the trusts and estates department.
Hilliard is in the business organizations department.
Thomas P. Schneider, U.W. 1972, has become executive director
of Children's Outing Association (COA) Youth & Family Centers, Milwaukee.
COA provides after-school and summer youth development programs, summer
camp, child care, early childhood education, a family center, adult basic
education, and computer literacy training. He previously was a U.S. attorney
for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Ltd., La Crosse, practicing in business organizations, business transactions,
estate planning, taxation, and real estate. Thompson previously was in

Michael T. Schoendorf, Colorado 1987, joined The Schroeder Group

Ann Marie Smith, U.W. 1998, has joined the Office of Statewide
Prosecution, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., as an assistant statewide prosecutor
and was admitted to the Florida Bar. She previously was a staff attorney
with the Wisconsin State Public Defender.
Gary Freyberg, U.W. 1984, and Charlotte Gibson, Michigan
1999, have joined the Wisconsin Department of Justice as assistant attorneys
general. Freyberg is an experienced criminal trial lawyer, and has worked
for the Wisconsin State Public Defender's office since 1984. He most recently
served as first assistant state public defender in a 10-county region
in northern Wisconsin. He is assigned to the criminal litigation and antitrust
unit. Gibson clerked for law firms in California, Washington, D.C., and
Madison, Wis., as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, Dallas,
Tex. She is assigned to the contracts, commercial, and property unit.

Mark A. Miller, Marquette 1983, has been appointed chief executive
officer at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., Milwaukee. He previously served
as managing officer of the firm's Manitowoc office. He is a member of
the firm's management committee and will continue to advise his Manitowoc
area clients. Miller is responsible for the firm's direction and future
growth, a responsibility he inherits from Frederick A. Muth Jr.,
Marquette 1964, who will continue as the firm's chairman. Muth has been
involved with the firm's management for 30 years.
Gerald Flanagan, Marquette 1954, J. Richard Sendik, Marquette
1963, and Thomas Fahl, U.W. 1965, have joined Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek
S.C., Menomonee Falls, all previously of Flanagan Sendik & Fahl LLC, Wauwatosa.
Flanagan and Sendik will continue practicing in corporate law and trusts
and estate law. Fahl will continue to focus his practice in litigation.

Brian H. Zygo, Texas 1997, has become a clerk for the Hon. Tony
A. Lindsay in the 280th Civil District Court, Houston, Tex. He previously
was a staff attorney in the Indian Law Office of Wisconsin Judicare Inc.

Anne Berleman Kearney, Harvard 1990, has formed Appellate Consulting
Group, which focuses on appellate matters before state and federal
courts in Wisconsin and Illinois. Kearney was formerly with Foley & Lardner,
where she was part of the firm's appellate practice group. She also participated
in the formation of the State Bar's Appellate Practice Section in 1998.
Bob Brill, Marquette 1992, has joined Mark Grossman and
Carmen Patti to form Grossman, Patti & Brill, 300 W. Washington
St., #1200, Chicago. The firm's practice covers all intellectual prop-erty
and commercial litigation matters, including patent, trademark and copyright
litigation, U.S. and international patent and trademark preparation and
prose-cution, and licensing. The patent prosecution practice has experience
with electrical and software technologies. The litigation practice has
experience with creative fee arrangements, including contingent fee patent
litigation.

at 1700 Tainter St., Menomonie. The existing office is at 3900 Northwoods

1986, have formed Slattery & Lee Ltd., Waukesha, and continue to
practice in plaintiffs' personal injury and general civil litigation.
Michele A. Tjader, Marquette 1996, and Corey Chirafisi,
CUNY 1998, have left the law firm of Kalal & Associates to form Tjader
& Chirafisi LLC, at 409 E. Main St., Suite 2L, Madison. They will
