How will you be listed in the next directory?

Work has begun on the 2000 Wisconsin Lawyer Directory, which means it's time to ensure that your free alphabetical, geographical, and law firm listings are correct. The directory, which is published in January, offers listings of Wisconsin lawyers, law firms, and corporations; law firm biographies; listings of courts, court personnel, and selected state offices; information on the State Bar, law-related agencies, and legal vendors; and the Lawyer-to-Lawyer Directory.

Check your listing

If you didn't verify the information used to create your directory listing when you received your dues statement in June, you can check your listing on WisBar's Lawyer Search. If your information is incorrect, click on the "Listing Incorrect?" button below your listing. This takes you to an online form where you can inform the Bar of any incorrect information. Please be sure to verify or add your email address. The deadline for all changes is Oct. 31 (changes made after Nov. 14 may not appear in the 2000 directory).

The Bar is mailing a verification form for the directory to all law offices in late September. To ensure that your office's information is accurate, please review the form and notify the Bar of any changes within 10 days of receipt. The law office verification also includes a form to preorder additional copies of the 2000 directory at a discount.

Consider an optional biography

Let the directory's 21,000-plus readers know more about you. Biographies, which typically include areas of practice, educational and professional information, and memberships in law-related organizations, are an effective way to attract new business through client referrals and co-counsel arrangements. Order by Dec. 17 and save $5 on extra copies

Every Wisconsin-licensed attorney automatically receives one free directory in January. Extra copies for your support staff or home office are available for $20 - $5 off the regular price - if ordered before Dec. 17. Orders of 10 to 24 directories receive an additional 5 percent off; 25 or more receive an additional 10 percent discount. To order extra copies, use the order form provided with the law office verification or contact the State Bar.
