Wisconsin Lawyer March 1997: State Bar of Wisconsin Elections

     State Bar of Wisconsin Elections

The Bar's membership will elect a president-elect and treasurer as well as a member of the Wisconsin Judicial Council. In addition, the Young Lawyers, Nonresident Lawyers and Government Lawyers divisions will select a president-elect. Information about the Government Lawyers Division candidate will appear in an upcoming Newsletter.

The State Bar president-elect serves a one-year term before becoming president. The treasurer holds the position for two years, while the Judicial Council representative serves a three-year term.

Voting will be conducted by mailed ballots that will be sent out on or before April 11 and must be received at the State Bar no later than April 25, 1997. This election timetable reflects a change in the bylaws that went into effect with the 1995 elections.

The winning candidates will assume their offices July 1, 1997.
