    Law school moves fast, and important opportunities can be easy to miss. This roundup highlights upcoming events, networking, and programs that can help law students connect with attorneys, find mentors, and start building their professional future now.

    The connections you make in law school can help shape your confidence, your perspective, and even your first job. You have several upcoming opportunities to meet attorneys, explore new areas of practice, and build relationships that can support you well beyond graduation.

    Environmental Law Section Volunteer and Networking Event

    May 8, 2026 at the Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee

    Looking to give back while building professional connections? Join the Environmental Law Section for an afternoon of hands‑on service followed by networking with practitioners who share your interests.

    Participants will assist with invasive species removal, coordinated trash pickup, plantings, and other projects based on the Urban Ecology Center’s needs.

    Schedule:

    • 1 p.m. – Project work begins
    • 3 p.m. – Post‑project networking happy hour off‑site

    This is a great opportunity to support environmental efforts in the community while making meaningful connections in a relaxed setting.

    Join Us for These Networking and Celebration Events at 2026 Annual Meeting and Conference this June in La Crosse

    Join us in La Crosse for at this year’s Annual Meeting and Conference for a night of networking, awards, and more. Students attend most events at no cost: Register on WisBar's Marketplace.

    Join us Thursday, June 11, 2026, in La Crosse for:

    Judges and Young Lawyers Division Members Social Hour – 4:30-5:30 p.m.

    This exclusive reception offers law students and young lawyers a unique opportunity to connect with judges in an informal setting. Attendees will have the chance to engage in conversation, ask questions, and make lasting impressions.

    Refreshments and appetizers will be provided courtesy of the Young Lawyers Division. A cash bar will be available.

    Member Recognition Celebration, 5:15-7 p.m.

    Join us as we recognize recipients of the Outstanding Public Interest Law Student Awards:

    Connect with alumni from Marquette University Law School and the University of Wisconsin Law School who were once in your shoes. This reception provides an excellent opportunity to hear career stories, ask questions, and begin building relationships that can extend beyond law school.

    La Crosse Queen Sunset Riverboat Cruise, 8:20-10 p.m.

    Cost: $20 per person

    End the day with a sunset cruise on the Mississippi River aboard the La Crosse Queen, a classic paddlewheel riverboat. Enjoy scenic views, refreshments, and time to unwind with fellow attendees in a relaxed social atmosphere.
