Keep Vital Statutes and Regulations by Your Side with State Bar of Wisconsin Codebooks

Staying on top of statutory and administrative changes is essential for a well-founded practice. Rely on proven tools and systems to ensure you are never caught off guard by new legislation with Codebooks from State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE®.

June 5, 2019 – The Wisconsin Legislature capped off 2018 with an extraordinary session that remains in the news, for both the general public and Wisconsin lawyers.1 The process of enacting 2017 Wisconsin Acts 368 to 370 occasionally has taken attention from the statutory changes contained in these acts.

The State Bar of Wisconsin tracked the extraordinary session developments, as it does other legislative and regulatory changes, incorporating them into its Wisconsin Codebook series from State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE®. The Codebooks are newly updated for 2019.

Each codebook contains the essential statutes, regulations, and other materials for specific areas of law – all in easily managed, paperbound volumes that you can carry with you or keep at your desk.

    Civil Litigation Codebook 2019

The legislature made significant amendments to Wisconsin’s rules of civil procedure late in the 2017-18 session as well as during the extraordinary session. These included new limitations on discovery requests (for example, the number of interrogatories and depositions), a time limit on requests for document production, and changes to the procedure for challenging the constitutionality of a Wisconsin statute.

    Employment Law Codebook 2019

The updated edition of this codebook includes some of the more notable recent legislative and regulatory developments. Among these are new statutes relating to municipalities, including the ability to enter into labor peace agreements and requirements for background investigations of certain employees, DWD Clearinghouse Revised Rule 18-033 (relating to changes to the unemployment insurance program), and new Wisconsin Administrative Code chapter HA 3 – Procedure and Practice for Fair Hearings.

Real Estate and Real Property Codebook 2019

Property law’s origins extend back many centuries, but real estate law is hardly a dormant area. The Wisconsin Real Estate and Real Property Codebook reflects this ever-evolving milieu. The 2019 edition includes a statute limiting municipalities’ ability to regulate real estate brokers, a statute carving out eviction-related exceptions to Consolidated Court Automation Program case management information guidelines, and the repealed and recreated residential real estate condition report.
