Sept. 1, 2021 – More than a year into the pandemic, it’s time to check in: How are you doing? Need – or have – some great advice for positioning your practice to thrive in the coming months and years?
In “Lessons from the Pandemic, Part Deux” at this year’s
Wisconsin Solo & Small Firm Conference (WSSFC), you’ll gain tips from Wisconsin lawyers and legal practice consultants on critical technologies, remote practice and court appearances, fine-tuning your in-office operations, and prioritizing wellness in these stressful times.
There’s more. At WSSFC, you can:
find out how to ensure you’re protecting your firm’s most sensitive information;
learn the steps to add guardian ad litem work to your practice;
improve your online presence to gain more clients;
get practical advice on handling remote work and remote workers;
discover common-but-overlooked business deductions and credits; and
learn practical suggestions for reducing your stress load;
And you can learn these all in one place – that is, wherever you happen to be.
Set for Oct. 28-30, 2021, WSSFC will once again be a virtual conference – and will have all the events that make the conference a great one for Wisconsin’s solo and small-firm lawyers.
The
conference schedule includes a mix of CLE sessions on a wide variety of topics of interest to solo and small-firm lawyers, and lawyers from larger firms, paralegals, and legal administrators will find useful sessions, too. As usual, CLE sessions will focus on substantive law, practice management, technology, and ethics/quality of life topics. One technology session will offer attendees help on updating their firm websites for the post-COVID-19 world.
The conference offers up to 16.5 credits from a mix of 14.0 continuing legal education (CLE), 7.5 Ethics and Professional Responsibility (EPR), 6.0 Law Practice Management (LPM), and/or 3.5 Lawyer Understanding and Awareness (LAU) credits.
New to CLE? Check out the “Wisconsin Lawyer’s Guide to Earning, Tracking, and Reporting CLE,” which will be updated this fall.
More than Zoom
This year's conference “is the best way to earn CLE credits as well as connect with colleagues,” said Wauwatosa attorney Kate Knowlton, chair of this year’s planning committee.
Attendees will be able to attend CLE and plenary sessions, browse and meet with exhibitors in the vendor hall, network with colleagues, have a private conversation with a speaker, and enter for a chance to win prizes – all while social distancing at work or home.
Perhaps best of all, you’ll be able to reconnect with your colleagues to network and simply chat.
