The Courtroom Artist Competition offers mock trial participants a unique opportunity to capture the drama of the courtroom through illustration. Open to students whose teams are competing, this contest challenges artists to create an accurate and compelling sketch of a trial scene during Round 3. Participants must observe strict courtroom decorum, introduce themselves to scorers without identifying their school, and submit their final artwork to the presiding judge. Drawings, created in approved mediums on 11” x 14” paper, will be judged by peer voting, with winners announced at the awards banquet. This competition highlights the role of courtroom artists as visual storytellers, bringing legal proceedings to life through their artistry.
