    Sr. Payment Solutions Specialist – Summit Credit Union

    Summit Credit Union has a rewarding opportunity to join our payment solutions team as a Sr. Payment Solutions Specialist Legal Bankruptcy and Business. In this role you will be responsible for performing a variety of complex activities regarding delinquent accounts. This position requires in-depth knowledge of collection systems, insurance programs, reporting requirements (internal and external), deposit accounts, loan documentation and return items. In addition, this position requires knowledge and understanding of legal actions for all motor vehicles, money actions, mortgage loans, business loans, Visa, deposit accounts, and bankruptcy issues. Required to work collaboratively with auction houses, attorneys, and collection agencies.

    Job Specifications:
    1. Bachelor’s degree preferred or related relevant work experience.
    2. Have or be able to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
    3. Three to five years in a high volume collections and/or loan servicing environment, with at least one year in a legal collections capacity, preferably a retail financial institution. Candidates with paralegal or law firm experience will also be considered.
    4. Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for projecting a positive image as representative for the Credit Union.
    5. Work requires knowledge of the legal processes involved in the collection of delinquent accounts, collection laws and practices relating to consumer loans, including, but not limited to the following regulations: Wisconsin Consumer Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), Wisconsin statutes and Federal Bankruptcy Rules.
    6. Excellent verbal, written and negotiation skills.
    7. Excellent organizational skills.
    8. Mathematical skills required.
    9. Ability to solve day-to-day problems within established guidelines.
    10. Work requires knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and software-specific data bases.
    11. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
