    John B. Stadler, U.W. 1988, has become the patient-safety manager at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Manchester, N.H.

    Mary C. Theisen, U.W. 1993, has joined the Afghanistan Justice Sector Support Program as a justice advisor, providing training, mentoring, and capacity building services for prosecutors’ offices in five Afghanistan provinces. She previously was a Milwaukee County assistant district attorney.

    Matthew T. Troha, U.W. 2003, has been promoted to vice president of human resources and deputy general counsel for JHT Holdings Inc., Pleasant Prairie.

    Mergers, Relocations, New Associations

    Emile Banks & Associates LLC has opened an office at 44 E. Mifflin St., Suite 400, Madison, and continues to focus on insurance defense litigation, medical malpractice, worker’s compensation, bond law, municipal law, and school law.

    DeMarb Law Office LLC has opened an office at 122 W. Washington Ave., Suite 808, Madison, with the Evansville office open by appointment. Rebecca R. Glazer, Chicago-Kent 2004, has joined the firm as an associate and focuses on debtor/creditor law, intellectual property, and general corporate representation.

    William E. Duffin William E. Duffin, Iowa 1987, has been elected president of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association. He is a shareholder in the litigation practice group in the Milwaukee office of Godfrey & Kahn S.C.

    Wisconsin voters elected judges to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and 10 county circuit courts in April. Brian W. Blanchard, Northwestern 1989, was elected to the District IV Court of Appeals. Stark, U.W. 1982, Eau Claire County Circuit Court, has become head of the college. The Hon. Charles H. Constantine, Marquette 1978, Racine County Circuit Court; the Hon. Edward F.     Hon. Shirley S.   Abrahamson The Hon. Shirley S. Abrahamson, Indiana-Bloomington 1956, has received the ABA Justice Center’s 2010 John Marshall Award, in recognition of her exemplary lifelong commitment and dedication to the improvement of the administration of justice. She is chief justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

    Jeffrey P. Aiken, Marquette 1972 cum laude, has received professional director certification from the Corporate Directors Group. He is a member of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., Milwaukee.

    The Hon. Kitty K. Brennan, U.W. 1977, received the Milwaukee Press Club Headliner’s Award at the club’s annual Gridiron dinner in April, in honor of being in the news for making a positive difference in Wisconsin. She is on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District I. Hon. Kitty K.   Brennan

    The Madison office of Godfrey & Kahn S.C. received the Hotline Firm of the Year Award from the State Bar of Wisconsin for its long-term commitment to the program, a public-service component of the State Bar’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service.

    Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. received a 2010 Civilian Community Service Award from the West Allis Police Department in recognition of the firm’s donation of bike helmets and fittings to local children.

    Gary Hollman, CPA, Michigan 1972, received the 2010-2011 WICPA Achievement Award from the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is with the Milwaukee office of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C.

    Melissa S.   Kampmann Melissa S. Kampmann, U.W. 2003, has received Certified Financial Planner certification. She focuses on estate and retirement planning with Ruder Ware L.L.S.C., Wausau.

    The Milwaukee Bar Association recognized two lawyers and a program with its 2010 legal achievement awards. Peter W. Bruce, Chicago 1970, with Davis & Kuelthau, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The city of Milwaukee, the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, Marquette Law School, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice received the Lawyer of the Year Award for their creation of the Milwaukee Foreclosure Mediation Program. Donald J. Christl, Chicago 1966, with Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., received the Distinguished Service Award.

    The Hon. Scott R. Needham, U.W. 1978, received the Judge of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates in May. He is on the St. Croix County Circuit Court and is deputy chief judge of the 10th Judicial District.

    Mark Thibodeau, Marquette 1977, has been named Prosecutor of the Year by the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association. He is Adams County district attorney, Friendship.
