    KnutesonJohn W. Knuteson, Marquette 1975, passed the certified contract advisor examination given by the NFL Players Association, authorizing him to negotiate on behalf of NFL players. Knuteson, a CPA, is president and shareholder of Knuteson, Powers & Wheeler S.C., Racine.

    Marc Jay Bern, Chicago-Kent 1975, senior partner of Napoli, Kaiser & Bern LLP, New York, spoke at the national Mealeys Conference on Fen-phen in West Palm Beach, Fla. His firm represents victims nationwide in fen-phen litigation.

    Sylvan Sobel, U.W. 1983, has published a children's book called Presidential Elections and Other Cool Facts (Barron's 2000). His first book, How the U.S. Government Works (Barron's 1999), was featured on C-SPAN's Book TV program earlier this year. Sobel is director of communications for the Federal Judicial Center, Washington, D.C.

    Gregg E. Bridge, Marquette 1983, formerly a shareholder in and director of Petrie & Stocking S.C., Milwaukee, has formed Bridge Law Office, 10400 W. North Ave., Suite 470, Wauwatosa. Bridge will continue to focus on personal injury, family law, and general civil matters and litigation.

    James T. Parent, Hamline 1989, formerly of Wagner & Todryk S.C., and R. Jeffrey Burgfechtel, Dayton 1994, formerly of Burgfechtel Law Offices, have formed the Law Offices of Burgfechtel & Parent, 2521 S. Broad-way, Menomonie. The firm focuses on civil litigation concentrating in personal injury, family, and general business law.

    Ralph J. Ehlinger, Georgetown 1968, has moved his office from downtown Milwaukee to Stonewood Corporate Center, W175 N1117 Stonewood Dr. #211, Germantown. His practice includes corporate transactions, civil trials and appeals, and health care law. he previously practiced with R. Jeffrey Krill as Ehlinger & Krill S.C.

    Godfrey & Kahn S.C. has consolidated its Appleton and Oshkosh offices. The firm will continue to operate out of its Appleton office at 100 W. Lawrence Ave. The Oshkosh office is closed.

    Lynn R. Laufenberg, Marquette 1975, has formed Laufenberg Law Offices S.C. at 250 N. Sunnyslope Rd., Suite 300, Brookfield. He will continue representing clients injured as the result of medical negligence, product defect, and other negligence. He formerly
    was a shareholder with Cannon & Dunphy S.C.

    Benjamin G. Porter, U.W. 1966, Laurie D. Kohli, and David A. LeMaster have formed Porter, Kohli & LeMaster P.S., Seattle, Wash. The firm will emphasize commercial litigation, business transactions, and tax planning.

    Richard A. Fortune, U.W. 1975, has formed Richard A. Fortune & Associates S.C., 1300 S. Green Bay Rd., Suite 302, Racine. He is joined by Mark P. McGillis, Drake 1994. The firm practices in work related injury, social security, and personal injury.
