The 1999-2000 Wisconsin Statutes and Annotations are available now in
bound volumes or on WisLaw® CD-ROM.
Bound Volumes. Hardcover bound volumes are $135, or $142 including
shipping and handling. Soft-cover bound volumes are $110, or $117

Misconduct Referees Wanted!
The Wisconsin Supreme Court is requesting applications from
lawyers and reserve judges who are interested in serving as
referees in cases regarding allegations of lawyer misconduct
or medical incapacity, and on petitions for license reinstatement.
The supreme court appoints referees to conduct hearings and
make findings, conclusions, and recommendations for the court's
review. The referees also review agreements between lawyers
and the Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) for consensual discipline,
and review determinations of the preliminary review panels when
the panels decide that a case should not be pursued.
Referees must be licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and
have 10 years of legal experience as well as experience in hearings
conducted under the rules of civil procedure and the rules of
evidence. Prior or pending professional discipline will eliminate
candidates from consideration. Preferred candidates include:
litigation lawyers, reserve judges, administrative law judges,
hearing examiners, arbitrators, and mediators. Pay is comparable
to reserve judge pay, currently $35.50 per hour.

Department of Revenue moves to new location
The Department of Revenue recently moved more than 1,300 employees
from five Madison locations to one central building located at 2135
Rimrock Rd., Madison, WI 53713. Directly across from the Alliant Energy
Center (formerly the Dane County Exposition Center), the new location
features a state-of-the-art taxpayer customer service center and lottery
player assistance area to better serve customers.
Taxpayer counter stations offer a measure of privacy, and conference
rooms are available for closed-door meetings. Personal computers also
are available to file taxes online. Revenue Department telephone numbers
and post office box addresses are unchanged. Only the Department of
Revenue's Madison district offices for the Bureaus of Equalization,
Manufacturing & Telco, Compliance, and Audit will remain at 5005 University
Ave.
