    Wisconsin Lawyer April 1999: Contract lawyering as a career alternative - Tell us about your experiences ...

    Tell us about your experiences ...

    The Wisconsin Lawyer would like to hear from Wisconsin attorneys who have had experience with contract lawyering.

    If you are an attorney who provides contract services, we want to know:

    • what prompted you to take this career path;
    • how you market your services;
    • whether you've been successful (how you define success and if your definition has changed as a result of your experiences);
    • how you bill and collect for the services you provide;
    • what benefits and drawbacks you've experienced;
    • your most interesting experience as a contract lawyer; and
    • what advice you'd give to another attorney considering a similar path.

    If you have hired a contract lawyer, we want to know:

    • about the nature of the assignment and its duration;
    • how you decide when and which contract lawyer to hire;
    • what you see as the risks and benefits of hiring a contract lawyer; and
    • your best and worst experience in working with a contract lawyer.

    Please contact Joyce Hastings at the State Bar at (800) 444-9404, ext. 6126; or by letter to State Bar of Wisconsin, P.O. Box 7158, Madison, WI 53707-7158.
