    Gregg C. Hagopian, U.W. 1987, has written "Property-flipping: The Phenomenon & the Crack-down" explaining fraudulent real estate appraisals, published in the July/August issue of the International Association of Assessing Officers' assessment journal. Hagopian is currently a Milwaukee assistant city attorney.

    Colleen C. Higgins, U.W. 1980, legal officer at the International Maritime Organization, United Nations, London, recently lectured and participated as a panelist in roundtable discussions with experts from United Nations agencies at the International Oceans Institute, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

    Awards, Degrees, Honors

    Richard J. Podell, U.W. 1969, Milwaukee, recently received an ABA Allies for Justice Award for "particularly noteworthy efforts by members of the bar, government officials, and others in positions of leadership." Podell also received the Chair's Cup from the ABA Family Law Section. The section's highest honor recognizes "meritorious service exceeding what is expected of our leadership." Podell, president of Richard J. Podell & Associates, is past chair of the ABA Family Law Section and serves as its liaison to the Canadian Bar Family Law Section.

    UrbanJay A. Urban , Marquette 1992, a shareholder with Urban Taylor & Stawski Ltd., has been appointed chair of the Public Service/Public Image Committee of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) New Lawyer Division. The committee enhances the image of trial lawyers through community service and pro bono projects. He also serves as Wisconsin's governor for the division. Urban recently received an award for past exemplary service to the division. He practices in plaintiff personal injury litigation.

    John E. Donahue, Randy S. Nelson and Sherwin C. Peltin partners in Weiss, Berzowski, Brady & Donahue LLP, Milwaukee, have earned inclusion in Who's Who in American Law, the Millennium Edition. Donahue, U.W. 1975, focuses on employee benefits law; Nelson, Marquette 1977, concentrates in trusts and estates; and Peltin, U.W. LL.B., 1952, N.Y.U. LL.M., 1955, and George Washington S.J.D., 1962, practices in tax planning, tax litigation, and business and corporate law.

    New Associations

    Steven W. Celba, Northwestern 1973, and Brian D. Baird, Tulsa 1974, have formed the law firm of Celba & Baird LLP located in the Milwaukee Center, 111 E. Kilbourn Ave., Milwaukee. Celba and Baird are corporate litigators who have tried cases in more than 20 states. The firm practices in industry-wide litigation, railroad and trucking law, toxic torts, environmental law, product liability, business litigation, and catastrophic injury.

    Kristi L. Fry, U.W. 1982 cum laude, has opened Fry Law Office S.C. at 7 Sheboygan St., Suite 202, Fond du Lac. The firm practices in personal injury, insurance and business litigation, and mediation. Fry formerly was with Sager, Pavlick, Wirtz & Fry S.C.

    RomeroRomero Law Office LLC , by Ernesto Romero, U.W. 1990, has opened Wisconsin's first English/Spanish bilingual 100% World Wide Web Virtual Law Firm at www.403-9000.com concentrating in cyber-bilingual personal injury and family law representation. Romero also has opened an office in his hometown of San Luis Potosí, México.

    Edward J. Enichen, U. of Illinois 1954, and G. Michael Scheurich, Northwestern 1972, of Guyer & Enichen P.C., Rockford, Ill., have moved their offices to 2601 Reid Farm Rd., Suite B, Rockford, Ill.

    David A. Hudec, Marquette 1988, and Victoria A. Oleniczak, Dayton 1992, formerly of Hudec Law Office S.C., have joined Linda L. Gray, Northern Illinois-DeKalb 1982. The new practice is Gray, Hudec & Oleniczak LLP located at 2847C Buell Dr., East Troy. The firm will concentrate in family law, real estate, personal injury, worker's compensation, social security, and municipal law.

    Jami S. Hubbard, U.W. 1997, has established AMI Resource Group LLC, an international business consultancy located in New York, N.Y., that provides business advice to foreigners doing usiness in the U.S. She also has become a member of Media Two LLC, an internet advertising agency for which she provides consulting and marketing services.

    Stephanie G. Rapkin, California Western 1982, has relocated her law office to 11514 N. Port Washington Rd., Suite 3, Mequon. Her practice is limited to estate planning and probate. She is the author of the treatise "Planning for Large Estates" published by Matthew Bender and an adjunct professor at U.W.-Milwaukee. Robin J. Irwin, Marquette 1971, whose practice focuses on real estate and franchise law, and Randolph E. House, Marquette 1977, whose practice is limited to family law and litigation, will share the offices.
