Six apply for U.S. Attorney post
MADISON, April 25, 2005 – Last Friday was the
deadline for submitting applications to the Federal Nominating
Commission for the vacant position of United States Attorney for the
Western District of Wisconsin. The opening results from J.B. Van
Hollen's recent resignation.
The Federal Nominating Commission has been making recommendations to
Wisconsin's U.S. Senators since 1979. The Commission will screen
applicants and interview potential candidates before submitting its
final recommendations to Senators Kohl and Feingold.
Those applying for the Madison-based post include (in alphabetical
order):
- Sean P. Duffy of Ashland
- Craig S. Lambert of Wisconsin Rapids
- Albert D. Moustakis of Eagle River
- Erik C. Peterson of Barneveld
- Patrick G. Schilling of Minocqua
- Stephen P. Sinnott of Madison
The Commission is chaired by University of Wisconsin Law School Dean
Kenneth B. Davis.
