State Bar of Wisconsin Intellectual Property committee subsidizes
scholarships to Camp Invention
MADISON, August 1, 2003 - Count down! A month left
then back to school. If looking for a last-minute camp to stave your
child's summertime boredom, the State Bar of Wisconsin's Intellectual
Property Section has just the answer: Camp Invention.
Based, in part, on subsidizing from the State Bar's Intellectual
Property Section funds are available and registration is still open for
three regional camps in Milwaukee, Madison and Rhinelander beginning
next week.
Designed for two to six-year-olds, Camp Invention provides hands-on
science and technology curriculum while inviting children to use their
imagination and innovation. Offered in 32 statewide locations, remaining
camps are offered in Milwaukee and Madison from Aug. 4-8 and in
Rhinelander from Aug.11-15. The camps
"We've heard a lot of good things about Camp Invention and that's why
our section funded 10 scholarships," said Attorney Michael Gratz,
past-chair of the Intellectual Property Section. "Our section wants to
support a program that helps youngsters learn about science, technology
and innovation." Gratz practices law with the Milwaukee law firm of
Boyle, Fredrickson, Newholm, Stein & Gratz SC, which also funded
local scholarships.
Camp Invention is a join project of the U.S. Patent and Trademark
Office, and the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Designed to enhance
innovative thinking in young learners, the program offers financial
assistance on a first-come-first-serve basis and runs from 9:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. daily. For more about local opportunities call Stephanie
