Attorneys, physicians & hospitals sponsor program to educate
professionals about health care planning
April 15, 2000 - A "Life Planning
2000" workshop for attorneys, health professionals, social
workers and clergy, will take place Monday, April 17, 2000, from 10:30
a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Wausau Hospital, 333 Pine Ridge Boulevard. The
program will encourage professionals to work together to ensure that
their clients' legal and health care objectives are met. Media are
welcome to attend.
Life Planning 2000 is a statewide educational campaign developed by
the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Health and Hospital
Association and the State Medical Society of Wisconsin, to promote
future medical planning before personal health crises arise. Wyeth
Ayerst Labs provided an educational grant for the program.
At the workshop, professionals will learn how to facilitate
discussions on end-of-life planning, help people fill out the
appropriate legal documents and better understand how to help their
patients and clients make informed decisions.
Other workshops will be held in Appleton, La Crosse and Madison in April
and May, in conjunction with Life Planning 2000.
