Diversity counsel program set for June 21
May 26, 2000 - The State Bar's Diversity Outreach
Committee and the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Corporate Counsel
Association are co-hosting an afternoon program on June 21 in Milwaukee
to increase opportunities for minority and women lawyers.
Floyd Holloway, assistant counsel for State Farm Insurance and chair
of the American Bar Association's Minority Counsel Program, will give an
overview of the ABA's program. Jose De Lasa, senior vice president,
secretary and general counsel for Abbott Laboratories, will present the
keynote address.
The program will begin with lunch at 12:00 p.m. at the University
Club, 924 E. Wells Street, Milwaukee. Registration will begin at 11:30
p.m. There is no charge to attend this event, but pre-registration is
required.

This event is a project of the State Bar's Diversity Outreach
Committee. Gerardo H. Gonzalez of Gonzalez, Saggio, Birdsall &
Harlan, LLP chairs the activity. The aim of the program is to provide a
platform for addressing issues and concerns pertaining to the barriers
associated with minority and women lawyers in areas where they
traditionally are not represented, or are rarely utilized.
