April 19, 2010 – The State Bar’s newest member benefit, MarketYourLawPractice.com (MYLP), is a web-based interactive marketing tool developed especially for lawyers. MYLP can help create a marketing plan that attracts new clients and develops new business.

MarketYourLawPractice is designed to help you grow your practice ethically and effectively through the Four Pillars of Marketing:

    • Retaining and growing existing relationships with clients

    • Attracting new clients and developing new business

    • Building name recognition and awareness

    • Creating targeted and effective communications

State Bar members who subscribe to MYLP have access 24/7 to this unique, password-protected website. MYLP gives lawyers and financial advisors who may not have the resources to hire marketing consultants or coaches access to a comprehensive array of marketing tools.

Personalized advice and encouragement also is available through the program’s Virtual Marketing Coach. Subscribers can submit questions and have their marketing plans or related marketing materials reviewed, and receive feedback from professional advisors within 24 hours.

    Other benefits include:

    • Marketing modules – twenty mini “marketing courses” covering topics such as advertising, public relations, networking, client service, cross marketing, social networking, ethically marketing your law practice, and more

    • Talk to your peers discussion board – where members can share questions and successes

    • Create marketing materials – small firms and solo practitioners can download templates to create your own professionally designed business cards, letterhead, envelopes, brochures, and other marketing pieces

    • Free marketing webinars – webinars are offered on topics related to marketing your law practice

    • Contact management program – a fully functioning CRM/contact management program (with reminders to keep you on track)

    • Marketing activity report – you will receive email reminders to help keep you focused on your marketing plan

    • Other resources – more than 600 pages of substantive content, including tools, tipsheets, customizable templates, assessments, planning tools, implementation resources, and measurement tools.

MYLP founder, Terrie S. Wheeler, has more than 20 years of business planning and marketing experience, including firm wide, regional office, practice group, industry group, and individual marketing initiatives. In 1996, Wheeler founded Professional Services Marketing, Inc. (PSM), a consulting firm dedicated exclusively to working with professional services firms and the individuals within those firms. She has helped scores of service firms develop and implement strategic business and marketing plans. Wheeler has directed the marketing and client services functions at three major Twin Cities law firms and has served as marketing director for a national litigation support services firm and as client services director for a public relations consulting firm.

Limited time offer. The First 150 State Bar of Wisconsin members to subscribe to MYLP receive special rate of $750, a savings of $700 off regular annual rate of $1,450.
