    Election ballots for State Bar officer elections in the mail; must be received by April 23

    April 7, 2010 – The State Bar will elect a president-elect, secretary, Judicial Council representative, and district governors this month. Voting will be conducted by mailed ballots, which were sent out earlier this week and must be received by the Bar not later than April 23. The winning candidates will assume their offices on July 1.

    April 7, 2010 – The State Bar will elect a president-elect, secretary, Judicial Council representative, and district governors this month. Voting will be conducted by mailed ballots, which were sent out this week and must be received by the Bar not later than April 23. The winning candidates will assume their offices on July 1.

    Candidates for president-elect are James M. Brennan, Sarah Fry Bruch, Margaret W. Hickey, and Jay Urban, all of Milwaukee. Candidates for secretary are Michael J. Remington, Washington, D.C.; Daniel F. Rinzel, Alexandria, Va.; and Benton C. Strauss, Northbrook, Ill. Candidates for Judicial Council representative are Gregory John Cook, William C. Gleisner II, Catherine A. La Fleur, and Paul J. Scoptur, all of Milwaukee. Candidates for Division presidents-elect are Thomas P. Gehl, Chicago; and Nicole Klassen, Washington, D.C. ; Nonresident Lawyers; Thomas G. Ragatz, Madison, Senior Lawyers; and Jonathan A. Gruhl, Glendale, Young Lawyers. Read about the candidates.

    Districts 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, and 16 will elect governors. District 2 (Milwaukee) elects five; District 6 (Waukesha) elects two; District 9 (Dane) elects four; and all other districts elect one. The Board of Governors is the State Bar’s policymaking body.
