Upcoming GAL for children seminars offer flexible program format – choose the session that works for you

April 15, 2009 – Whether you are new to the guardian ad litem (GAL) role or returning for a refresher, the upcoming State Bar GAL training seminars have something for everyone. Attend the sessions that work for you.

The half-day Basic session prepares attorneys to take on a GAL appointment and also helps existing GALs with limited experience better understand their role.

The half-day Intermediate session addresses ethics, interpreting and understanding behavior of the domestic violence client, and working with both family court and children’s court.

The full-day Advanced session addresses cross examining expert witnesses, working with pro se litigants, getting records from school districts, defining the best interest of children, and partnering with mental health professionals.
