Aug. 7 2019 – Don’t miss opportunities to learn, network, and relax at the 2019 Wisconsin Solo & Small Firm Conference, Oct. 24-26, at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

Earn CLE, EPR (ethics or professional responsibility), LPM (law practice management), and LAU (lawyers’ awareness and understanding) credits while networking with other solo and small-firm attorneys. You can attend CLE topics in four tracks: Substantive Law, Practice Management, Technology, and Quality of Life/Ethics.

At this year’s plenary sessions, learn how you utilize statistical analysis to improve your firm’s profitability, and gain fascinating insight into the secrets behind a master magician’s tricks to pick up techniques for tackling your own fears and tough goals. You’ll also learn about:

    • persuading judges and juries;

    • gadgets, gizmos, and widgets; and

    • the fine art of getting paid ... ethically.

Plus, free access to recorded sessions after the conference ends means the chance to earn even more CLE credits.

Expo, Networking, Luncheons, Receptions, and More

There’s more to the conference than plenaries and CLE seminars:

    • On Thursday, visit the Legal Expo for lunch – compliments of Habush, Habush & Rottier, S.C., and FindLaw – while gathering great information on tools, services, and ideas from exhibitors.

    • Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, and soda, thanks to WILMIC and West Bend Mutual Insurance at the reception on Thursday.

    • Sign up for one of multiple dine-arounds at local restaurants where you'll meet and network with fellow conference-goers, or enjoy family fun night with free bowling and more.

    • Start your day Friday with a deluxe continental breakfast, compliments of Hupy and Abraham, S.C.

    • Celebrate the recipient of the John Lederer Service Award at lunch on Friday.

    • Relax and enjoy the hospitality suite and refreshments sponsored by Krekeler Strother S.C.

And a bonus: The Passport to Prizes is back. Have your passport signed by every exhibitor in the Legal Expo for the chance to win awesome prizes, like free tuition to next year’s conference and PINNACLE® gift certificates.

Apply for a Scholarship to the 2019 Wisconsin Solo & Small Firm Conference

The State Bar’s Solo/Small Firm & General Practice Section is offering three scholarships to attend the conference. The scholarships cover the cost of conference tuition. Recipients are responsible for their travel and lodging costs.

All solo and small-firm attorneys are eligible to apply, but preference is given to those who otherwise couldn’t attend the conference due to financial constraints.

Scholarship recipients are expected to “pay it forward” through volunteer service, such as assisting with conference planning or serving on either the Solo/Small Firm & General Practice Section board or a board subcommittee.

For more information, see the application on WisBar.org. Submit applications by Sept. 13, 2019, to Section Chair Kate Knowlton.
