Mandatory e-filing for Eastern District bankruptcy courts

    Wisconsin LawyerWisconsin Lawyer
    Vol. 80, No. 12, December 2007

    Effective Jan. 1, 2008

The U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern District of Wisconsin will institute mandatory electronic filing on Jan. 1, 2008. Electronic filing will be required for all petitions, pleadings, orders, and correspondence filed with the court by debtors' and creditors' attorneys. Pro se debtors and creditors will still be allowed to file paper documents, and if an attorney can show cause as to why that attorney should not be required to file electronically (such as no computer access), an exemption will be considered.
