    State Bar Hosts Mining Symposium

    Madison, WI – The State Bar of Wisconsin will sponsor a panel discussion open to the general public on the history and operation of mining laws in Wisconsin on Wednesday, August 28. Speakers will explore the issues surrounding the possible mining of the Penokee Range near Bad River. Panelists include Attorney Carl Sinderbrand (Axley Brynelson LLP) and Attorney Jessica Franklin (Godfrey & Kahn SC).  Don Behm of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is the moderator.

    The discussion is an informational event for the media, citizens, local officials and others who want to hear from experts on various federal, state and tribal laws that affect mining in Wisconsin. The State Bar is also working to ensure that lawyers have the tools they need to represent their clients in a highly charged, highly technical area of the law, by hosting a day-long seminar on mining law prior to the public event.

    There is no charge for the public panel discussion and no registration is required.
