Volunteers Needed for National Mock Trial Championship 2014

Volunteers Needed for National Mock Trial Championship 2014

Sept. 25, 2012 – The State Bar of Wisconsin is honored to be selected to host the 2014 National High School Mock Trial Championship, which will be held in Madison, May 9 - 11, 2014.

Dane County judges have very graciously allowed the use of their courtrooms for this event and the Wisconsin justices have generously allowed the use of the Supreme Court Oral Hearing Room for the final round.

Wisconsin has hosted this event only once previously in 1992.

The National Mock Trial Championship hosts approximately 46-48 teams each year from all over the country as well as South Korea, the Mariana Islands and Guam. Annually, the event draws over 1,000 judges, attorneys, teachers and observers to the host site.

Hundreds of volunteers will be needed to assist with planning, staffing and judging this event, as well as fundraising to support the event. Volunteer opportunities are available for both long term (planning, organizing, fundraising), and short-term during the event May 9-11, 2014.

If you would like additional information, or to volunteer for National Mock Trial, please contact Marsha Varvil-Weld, State Bar Public Education Coordinator at (608) 250-6191 or email mvarvil-weld@wisbar.org.
