March 15, 2023 – As a new lawyer, Madison attorney T.R. Williams knew she wanted to become involved with State Bar leadership.
In 2014, Williams joined the State Bar Leadership Development Committee, and spent the next several years serving on the committee. “Each year, they ask me if I want to leave,” Williams said, “and I say ‘of course not.’”
Why stay?
“On this committee, I’ve had the opportunity to do amazing things for the state and for the State Bar,” Williams said.
“Very seldomly – particularly as a criminal defense attorney – do you see your work come to fruition very quickly,” Williams said.
The State Bar allows attorneys to have a leadership role where you can truly make a difference, Williams said.
“And it’s been awesome,” she said.
