    Know an Outstanding Young Lawyer? Young Lawyers Division Seeks Nominations by Jan. 9

    Nov. 19, 2014 – The State Bar Young Lawyers Division is pleased to solicit nominations for the Sixth Annual Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. The award pays tribute to a young lawyer who has made an impact in his or her practice area, service to the bar, and service to the community.

    The award winner will receive notice in the YLD newsletter Fresh Perspectives, as well as an award presentation at the Young Lawyers Leadership Conference in Milwaukee on March 20, 2015. As leaders in the bar and in your fields, we hope you can help us recognize an outstanding young lawyer and inspire others to the same level of excellence.

    Criteria

    Nominees must be under age 36 or in practice for less than five years. They also must be a member in good standing with the State of Wisconsin for more than 12 months.

    Young lawyers who currently sit on the YLD board or on the State Bar Board of Governors are not eligible for the award.

    Nomination Process

    To nominate yourself or a colleague, please submit the following information on or before Jan. 9, 2015, via email to Kris Wenzel (kwenzel@wisbar.org) and Richard Orton (rorton@crivellocarlson.com):

    • Nominee’s name and bar number;
    • A brief paragraph explaining how the nominee has demonstrated each of the following:

    a) service to clients;

    b) service to the bar (local, state, or specialty bar), members of the bar, and/or the court; and

    c) service to the community.

    The YLD also welcomes a resume or short biography of the candidate as well as any other materials that demonstrate the nominee’s dedicated service.
